The Mine
We arrive at the Mine.
We hear Bhulayese music and southern Quiswanese folk singers.
We meet Haast and Ditro the cook, they give us our mission in return for the bottle of fine wine we brought them and tell us about their visions - long horse-like faces, phrases like "Don't wanna let go" and sad emotions. If we find the source/fix it, we get a favor as a prize.
We ask about what they've seen and heard, and Verla tries out the food.
They've heard of Fendis - he was with a group of fighters and beast tamers, going north.
We go deep in the mine. There is no gas. There's a sound of running water. Behind a magic secret hole.
BONJOUR
We go in a room, lots of glister filled water, glows green/blue. The water is in a pool and flows backwards un into the eyes of a stone face. There's a door, on which handprints light up and fade. Different sizes and races. Someone looks out through one of the eyes. Verla touches the door with her hand and adds her print to it. Dago follows.
When we touch the door, we understand Irrévoi - an ancient language spoken by the people we see portrayed on pillars - squid people.
We stand in a hallway, 3 crystals over 3 doorways. 1, the left, is flickering, the others are dormant.
We go to the left, find a big crystal, flickering, off kilter. When we approach, creatures approach us.
They have long elven like ears, grey skin, claws, elongated limbs, and strikingly blue eyes. There's 15 of them. They were once smart, but lost that. Gollums.
We fight and win. Horde mechanics.
I don't remember if we removed the crystal or placed it back where it should be.
We proceed to the right chamber.
We talk, and Dago, in a jovial tone, mentions how this is at least his fourth boat, as the last 3, including ours, crashed.
We find a tub of water oversaturated with glister, and in an attempt to find the drain, I go under the water and accidentally hear thoughts around me. From Dago's thoughts, I see a big paella, small hands, I hear voices, see a low table and hear laughter. I feel my own thoughts, regret and guilt. I mess around with him for a while until I find something on the bottom. Rags? Long soft cloth and black leather. They're
2 Minor Bracers of Empowerment (+1) - "Friendship Bracerlets"
We go into the last chamber.
There's a thing. It offers an answer for a memory. I decline, Dago does a thing.
We hear a voice in our heads.
He has no name, so Dago calls him Vizini after learning that he'd been a vizier. He's maybe millennia old, and his people were missionaries. There's a throne of stone and by it, there's a mark of the Irrévoi.
Vizini is alone and going mad because he only has his memories in his rock, no one to talk to.
Getting to the throne, you can float around it, so we mess around for a while and see Vizini's robe, which we bring with us.
We decide to help Vizini as well by taking some of his rock with us as well as placing him in Dago's head for safe keeping. 5by5 foot hole equals 5by5 foot rock.
Out of the Irrévoi chambers
We get back to the miners, tell them what's happened, and Haast is very ambitious about the glister.
We decide to take the night in the cave and to get hammered on the other bottle of wine. Vizini has not been drunk before and decides to curse us out the next day. It's an awkward hangover in that head.
Dago brews some tea with veilflower - for colds and hangovers :D
On Our Way Home
Smart as he is, he turns into a giant spider crab on which I ride up the mountain, and we find a hut and a Kedway.
Kedway is maybe an earth genasi who lives in a hut or a firbolg who lives in a cave. He might have served us stew or he might have served us bread.
He lost his Sherrot, we pry and get to know that a Sherrot is a special bear. We go and find a Sherrot between a lot of bear-looking rocks in a valley. Changes scenery a lot.
We bring Sherrot back to Kedway and he thanks us with the promise of a Tiny Ursine Intervention and says we'll be fortunate and be home in time for dinner. It's technically impossible, but we made our way home and wouldn't you know it, we find the clearing in the forest right in time for dinner.
Back in Aller
Big rock on back, big math in head, and big confused, we make our way to Symbol's Unnamed Tavern and dump our stuff.
