It's evening and Symbol is surprised to see us but lets us dump our stuff in the tavern, which is now named the Upside Down.
She pours us some stew and drinks and we sit down to actually breathe. As we eat, she tells us that Hestaan is worried.
Nonu kicks open the door, covered in blood, rambling about having lost their mounts, being confused and confusing, soemthing about a weird river and now she's here. Oh, and the others are f*cked in Quarit.
We get her to calm down just enough to tell us the gist of it again and we decide to go save them if they're not already dead. Hestann appears and says they're in trouble.
Making Our Way Back to Quarit
Nonu plays the panflute, eats a crabcake in a spiritual way because everything is energy so to consume is to understand and use.
We sit down and talk over the food because she needs to rest to do her thing. Her thing being maybe a portal there.
We talk birth seasons, and Verla says her birth season is unknown but her favourite is Second Spring. So they decide that that's her new birth season. Nonu doesn't know hers either, so she chooses Second Fall as her favourite.
I didn't catch Dago's.
After a relaxing talk about backstories - Nonu not knowing hers, and Verla having forgotten hers - they go outside for Nonu to try and find a portal back to Quarit. She finds 3 pings.
Rolls the fate die [Nat 1].
Pandemonium was not the ideal way to go, we decided, so we borrowed a dinghy to go to Donnin, looking for help and a real boat.
Donnin the Pirate Haven
The Jasinth Prince is top Pirate, they trade in gems, and they have everything.
We try to get word around that we need help (and a boat). Doesn't go great.
I go to a tailor, he is pushy about pants and I tried to get Vizinis robe appraised - "10 gold, it's probably like 70 years old". I decline :)
Nonu goes to a fletcher - he scams her, she gets mad. No new bow for her. She takes the arrows tho.
Dago puts on a show.
Nonu tries to do a fire show. It's not great.
I run into a drunk. His name is Kerrrrds. He is a captain, a great captain, and he is looking for his long lost wife. He has a ship! I take him with me and find other crew.
The crew: Uno, the human; Dos, the half orc; And Tree, the firbolg.
We pick up the others, I tell them it's a great idea, and promise Kerrrrds that I'll help look for his wife.
On the way, we run into a whale. We figure he's hungry, because he's rather aggressive, and to not topple the boat, Dago pours his entire stash of fish into the ocean with the whale. It eats it. Filled to the brim with pure glister. We named him Wallace. And hope he didn't blow up from it.
Now, Quarit
They're idiots. Miss Vestra - works for ____[My notes said something like Uthiny or Vehiny?].
In Northern Quiswa people are luckily very polite, ask nicely and don't say "need".
In the tavern, we find one of Tallbeck's scribbled notes. Math or something.
We hear that a "Sho Gy" guy - an old war hero - stopped the fight and had a deal with the mistress, Mara. All this, says a beggar guy.
Kerridus says OB[???]. 2 trials - they left town, and the last one is missing.
They're all hunted by a possy, and we're definitely a part of Kerridus' crew, The Assholes which gets us in the door to the Witch's Benediction. We're also joining this search party.
Nonu is great at talking. [???]
There are mentions of Singer, we keep face. Keeps, the firbolg bartender in the WB says talk to Mara.
Mara "the Mistress" the drow has a shadow wolf. She says she hired Singer to find Symbol. She sent the rest of our crew somewhere called Mordreth as payback for their fuckup. She know's we're part of their group, and we're to go find them before the search party does, but also without getting in the way of the "Owlbangers"' mission in Mordreth, then we'll be ok in her book.
We leave the bar to go find the Owlbangers.
