Marcenne is a fair mother who always loved all her three kids equally even though her husband played favourites towards his firstborn, his heir. He did not show the girls very much affection and with them being twins, the first year they were alive, he was even unsure whether Paquinette or Lara was the oldest.
After Bodaran's death, Stanilas took it hard. His first reaction, as a coping mechanism, he wanted to know which sister was born first to announce a new heir as soon as possible. Marcenne saw this as a threat towards both girls and promised herself to take the knowledge of who was the oldest, and thus the rightful heir, to the grave.
After about half a year, he came back to his senses and began loving both girls equally. Marcenne, however, never let the information slip up and even had the midwife change her name and then banished from the country to protect her daughters.
