Structure and Politics

New York’s spirit courts are always in a state of flux, the most current incarnation having only been solidified for just over a decade. While numerous minor courts exist in the city, most still pay fealty to one of the major three, any challengers to the triad being either ignored or assimilated. Inter-court relations currently remain tense, if not cordial. The People’s Court and The Municipality are both fast allies and fierce rivals. This rivalry is what keeps the Wild Court in power; combined they could easily steamroll the smaller court, but since they spend as much time one-upping each other as they do helping each other, the Wild Court remains safely entrenched. For the most part, the Wild Court largely ignores the People’s Court as they have vastly different spheres of influence, but often vies with The Municipality over parks, beaches, and waterways.
