Old World Harpy

Beastfolk
General Description
The Old World Harpies are considered the more "civilised" of the two more well-known races, and have reddy-brown feathers on their heads, backs and the outside of their wings, a black band around the throat and white feathers with black tips elsewhere.

Adapting to Society
Old World Harpies over the years have, through education, upbringing or sheer will to change and do good, tried to break away from their race's many negative traits and at the very least attempt to adapt to the society they live within. Dependent on where they ended up this has varying degrees of success. Generally they have drifted away from their New World counterparts in mindset and are far more adapted to the lifestyle of the more "civilised" nations, although they can still slip into their race's instinctive native behaviour if pushed far enough (for this reason, any Harpies not born in these countries are kept tabs on by the local governments in case they “go native”.) Also, while most of their negative traits have been subdued or suppressed entirely, some will occasionally remain in some capacity - most commonly the race's infamous misandry and high carnal appetite, and a high level of protectiveness over their property.

Language
Most rehabilitated Harpies can still speak their parent tongue but usually don’t. Most will speak Common and/or Forked Tongue, dependent on their location.
