The New World Harpies have not made much in the way of contact with races outside the New World. However, Troll expeditions into the mountains surrounding the Great Desert have made contact with Harpy warriors, to limited success.
General Description
New World Harpies are the largest species of Harpies, and are also the most powerfully built, with golden-brown feathers which fade out to a dark red as they head outwards.
Culture
New World Harpy culture has been heavily described by other Beastfolk races, even though it has not been directly observed by anyone outside the New World for any real length of time. The New World Harpies, even when they are living in cities, are known to form large matriarchal communes to live in and do not really have any concept of monogamy, or indeed restraint, shame or even real hygiene - in urban settings, many are sex workers not by necessity as is usually the case but by choice. Females tend to lean towards the sadistic and domineering side while males tend to be subservient and mentally frail. Those living in cities and large settlements usually sit on the bottom rung of society like the Expansion Lesser Catfolk, but for different reasons - namely their (not totally undeserved) reputation for being unrefined, violent hedonists. As a result they are one of the few Beastfolk races that even other Beastfolk are reluctant to interact with.
