The Meraguin, or specifically their Unknown guard animals, have been blamed recently for a string of Imperial and Bētin trade vessel losses in the Strait of Tír as they passed over the purported location of one of their cities.
Mer Pirates
Rumours have persisted of a pirate clan operating out of Crescent Moon Island made up entirely of Meraguin too violent and uncontrollable for their own civilisation. The high level of losses of Troll supply ships to the Southlands have been blamed on these pirates and they have been reports of Troll slaves being sold in the Southlands.
Mysterious
Due to their extreme long term isolationism and the Meraguin's magical vow to take the secrets of their race to the grave, nothing is known about this elusive kingdom. Any attempt to make direct contact has been met with deadly resistance. Accordingly to the scholar’s records, they have never been directly involved in any major events in the entire history of Oerth. Any Meraguin who come into contact with other races or leave the Kingdom of their own accord refuse to talk about matters of any importance.
