Cult of the Wrathful Mother

The Cult of the Wrathful Mother is an interesting subversion of the normal mantra of peace and love that other Leànnite churches and cults live by. Believing that the Imperial Wars were an indication that Leànnan had abandoned them and that the Fall of Caisleán was her demanding blood appeasement, this tiny fringe group existing almost exclusively within Southern Tír, it consists of High Elf bandit groups that have become mad with grief at the loss of their nation and believe that Leànnan requires sacrifice in order to turn towards them again. The sacrifice of non-believers is extremely common amongst the Cult’s clans, as are cannibalism, incest, rape and torture. The life of a Wrathful Mother cultist is a violent and usually short existence of blood, depravity and insanity, and they are easily spotted as they rarely wear any clothes bar animal pelts (often wearing stag skins complete with antlers as cloaks) and painting themselves with blood. Even other bandits tend to steer clear of the Cult as they tend to leave nobody they come across who is not one of them alive, instead leaving a mess of broken bodies hanging from trees, hacked into pieces with hatchets, or torn apart with bare hands and partially eaten. Ironically, because of this behaviour this cult that has been trying to get Leànnan's attention has been totally shunned and disowned by her.
