Due to a cartography error, a patrol from the 3rd Legion of the Troll Imperial Legions crossed the border out of the Kingdom of Tir and accidentally occupied the tiny village of Hazelgrove in the neighbouring Halfling Shires for two hours. Upon realising their mistake, they appeared before the town mayor, where they apologised profusely before promptly leaving. This marks the only time the Halfling Shires have been invaded, and in fact the only time the neutral nation has been involved in any real conflict in any way.
There were no deaths and only a few minor injuries, as well as some minor property damage that was fully reimbursed by the soldiers. The village now has a small memorial to the event, in the shape of a bent stone sword stuck into the ground with a plaque detailing the events, and the entire event is something of a source of amusement for modern historians.
