Hatched during a period of famine in an unknown location in the Imperial Troll Empire, Azural is a unique example of a Hybrid Dragon, an extreme rarity caused when two different types of Dragon crossbreed. Usually these pairings form either Dragons of one type with physical features from the other, but true Hybrid Dragons are the rare occasions where, due to a variety of reasons, the two types merge with results that are visually monstrous to a viewer and, to the unfortunate dragon hatched with such anomalies, an often extremely short and agonising life. Azural not only survived, but grew to adulthood despite her extreme deformities - mainly by devouring her siblings and then whatever she could get into her mouth.
During her youth, she was raised by a Dark Elf Warlock, who she later found out was merely interested in fattening her up in order to summon a Greater Daemon, so she also killed him. This betrayal instilled in her a deep mistrust of "lesser beings" (basically any humanoid race), and having learnt about magic and medicine from the books of the man who raised her, plans to use this knowledge to eradicate all non-Draconic life on Orth. To this end, at some point in the past she captured and experimented on Oculista Minas.
