NORTHERN ROAD
Continue our travel north.
Codex has an idea – using water walk he can shave off a day from the trip. He uses water walk on the mounts and the party and they travel over the lake, getting there as a straight line.
We get a Sending from Baron Michael – the Paladins of St. Cuthbert have arrived in Everlife!
We arrive in Lasthaven, a full day early. We meet the Steward and he kneels. He hands Able the two letters. The announcements are written by Sabre Khaludz, as he retained Consul, the king never replaced him. One is the announcement of the King dying, and of the multiple claims to the throne.
We learn about the Orc attack. A warband of 10 Orc arrived, Rhogar and a group of townsfolk fended them off. They killed four, captured one, and the rest ran off. All were emaciated.
We say our goodbyes and then head out to Liondark Trading Company. Cynthia and Katla are there, Cynthia is happy to see Bale, Katla is cool and cordial to “his grace”. Bale speaks to her, he is a wreck, and talks about how overwhelming it is.
Katla and him have a heart to heart. Bale talks wistfully about the life he gave up, the life of freedom for a life of noble chains.
We go to speak to the Orc, who, we find out, is of the Sharptooth Tribe. He recognizes Simon as a Half-Blood, and tells him he is raiding for the glory of the Sharptooth Tribe.
We head out to speak to Uhurak and find out this tribe is a small handful of children, a warchief that is also a child, and three old women. They must be refugees.
Uhurak also tells us there is a second Orcish tribe, a larger one, a day or two away. This tribe doesn’t have a visible Shaman, which means the shaman isn’t present, or the Shaman is not wearing their traditional garb.
We head back to town and rest for the night at our house.
