CITY OF THE SUN
Returned the loot to sanctuary. Moved through the town to the old palace and found the way into the entrance to the City of the Sun’s Archive.
There we met the Guardian, an undead silver dragon dedicated to guarding the archives. We were tested and found worthy to gain the key, which is the beating heart of the Guardian.
Sadly, Berdyn was asked to give up something important, and he gave up the ability to pursue a relationship with Gaela.
We then travel to the huge bridge fortress where the demons and the Gate demon is, and fight our way through a group of Glabrezu and some demon dogs, as well as an invisible creature with tentacles.
After defeating them, we face down the Demon that is also a gate, known as an alcolith.
As we fight it, a Glabrezu comes through the gate, which Codex banishes. Then another Glabrezu comes through. We destroy the gate, and take out the second Glabrezu.
Codex attempts to teleport to the main entrance, but the teleport doesn’t work and we end up at a similar portal, the other Alcolith further south.
We destroy that portal quickly, and then teleport again. This time we end up on the plain near the Tiger’s Nest, the Teleports are not going well.
Codex then finds a scroll of teleport he was handed earlier, and we teleport one more time. This goes very badly, mishap three times, but we end up in the chamber facing down the Portal and the Sibriex guarding it.
A combat commences. The Sibriex feebleminds Berdyn, and mutates Maud, she wastes away to a skeletal frame. It also mutates Codex’s eyes, they are jet black with no schelera, but he can now see in the dark!
Berdyn, like a shark, moves through the pool of liquid flesh and reaches the portal, and then touches the heart. The portal explodes, almost killing everyone on the dais – Bale, Simon, and Berdyn. The explosion weakens the entire chamber, and it begins to collapse. Maud teleports us to the summit, to safety.
We message the Kingdom of the tiger General telling him we are successful, and to prepare a force to wipe out the last of the demons. We then head to the Sanctuary and rest for the night.
