Chrysoprase
After a bland breakfast we speak to Gegu about our travels today. He tells us that the Green Dragonborn colony lives one day and the count of 480 down the river. He also says that the Green Dragonborn are insular, but they have traded in the past with Chrysoprase.
We say goodbye for now to Jacquette and prepare ourselves to assault the Drow encampment. We are taken to the Chrysoprase docks and then instructed on how to use the skiff. We have to travel down river for a full day to get to the Drow caverns. And the river is white water, very rough.
After 8 hours of white water, white knuckle misery, we make it to our destination. We pull up the skiff and rest for the night, exhausted from the intense skiff ride.
During the evening we encounter a trio of Xorn. After a tense moment, we communicate with them, and find out they are very hungry. We feed them some gems and metal. Codex offers to get them home, but asks about the area. The Xorn Xnxotzdxrc then gives us some interesting information about the settlements. We find out that there is a Mind Flayer settlement somewhere across the river.
He tells us that the drow encampment has several outposts around them, including one that has a drider guard, a drow cursed with a spider body. We get a general sense of where they are, but they don’t really understand tunnels are they can pass right through the stone.
Xnxotzdxrc also tells us he was summoned by a Drow wizard from the “big home” – a drow city further underground. It escaped and found the other Xorn, and then had a child.
Codex uses banishment to get them all home. We did a good thing!
