Spare no Expense

Session

SouthSpire

The party at Lasthaven is tomorrow, so we discuss paying a wizard to teleport us to Lasthaven. It is likely going to be very expensive.

So Codex, Simon and Maude head to the Runecaster’s tower, meet with Hamfoe Wormtuck, the leader of the Warlock’s group of the Runecaster’s tower. We ask about the Teleportation Circle to Kingstown, and we find out that a Sending spell from Taielye Orren the Wood elven Wizard is needed for her to contact the Kingstown side of the circle.  Then they might not attack us immediately.

We speak to Taielye in person, and she tells us that the Teleportation spell being cast will cost 7500 gp, provided we have an item from Lasthaven.  Codex has his house key, which is sufficient.  She will cast it tomorrow if we provide the money.

We speak about it back at the hotel.  After some negotiation with Bale, he agrees to pay the cost in exchange for the. Codex agrees a little reluctantly to give it over.

Bale, Maude and Berdyn then head down to the Underdark dwarven settlement and collect Kraken, while Simon and Codex collect things for Lasthaven.

Codex performs a sending to Katla regarding what the townsfolk might want. She responds with fun things, like musical instruments, Candy and cakes, toys.  So Codex proceeds to dump over a thousand gold on all that stuff. It’s a sizeable assortment of musical instruments and fine candy and cakes and muffins.  We also get a huge box of fireworks and Rock Gnome Toys, the very best toys.

Simon collects a bunch of more necessary items, dried fruit and armaments.   We are ready for tomorrow.

Bale leaves a bit and then returns. He tells us he managed to sell the Anthropomancy for 1000 Sigilian coins to a fence.  This is an amazing amount, but now the book will be sold to the highest bidder, which could be really bad in the future.
