Everlife
Berdyn tells us he saw the glow of a wildfire to the west, which is not unusual this time of year. We used a Sending Stone to contact Katla Liondark, warning her about the fire. She thanks us, and tells us that Cynthia tells Bale hello, and the Dwarven caravan has left.
We go to the Neufeld house, and find out that the basement door is unbarred. Likely the Ghasts have opened it. We travel along the tunnel connected to the basement.
We come across a larger chamber, and there are Ghasts carefully feeding and tending to a huge horrible plant, hanging off the ceiling. This plant is full of bodies.
This plant is a Corpse Flower, which grows out of the ground where a powerful necromancer of undead creature has fallen. It eats corpses or turns corpses into Zombies, and has a powerful poison that surrounds it. We defeat it.
We follow the remainder of the tunnels, and identify several connecting buildings. Two of which are old bordellos. It is all mapped. There are two tunnels out of the city that that are supposed to lead to a summer cottage and somewhere else.
We return to the Noble section and get Bale and Simon cleaned up in the Lord’s manor. Codex cuts their hair, and makes sure Bale gets the same cut as his brother, from a portrait he sees in the hallway.
When we return to the Spire, people are shocked when they see Bale. They see the family resemblance. And so, during dinner, we tell the assembled group the Truth. Bale is Able Alegan.
The people are quiet, and Codex tells them that the gods of Obad-Hai, Ioun, and Pelor have given confirmation. And the resemblance is uncanny.
We pledge to help the city of Everlife with reinforcements, with supplies. Bale is uncomfortable with this, but he agrees to take on the mantle.
We meet Pan Chen, captain of the guard, for the Kingdom of the Tiger. She makes a request – If we are going to the Kingdom of the Tiger, we send an official missive to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Tiger in Kingdom of the Tiger. They want us to tell them what he have seen in the city, and tell the truth.
We agree. In exchange, they will pledge to continue to protect the city, and they will head north, past Everlife.
