Love Fool

Session

Kingston – R2 - Royal District of Prince Gilbert

Bale and Simon attend the early mass at the grand temple of Pelor.  Codex heads to the Royal Library, and does some research.

While at the grand temple, the Crown Prince asks about Theobald’s lack of attendance, and suggest that Theobald is being irreligious. Gilbert responds carefully and politely, but they are enraged. He’s a prick.

Berdyn notes that the Crown Prince speaks to someone in the crowd, and Berdyn follows that person. He sees that the person then meets with a few others, one of which was one of the brutes that we regularly see at the teleportation circle at the old temple of Boccob. They notice Berdyn before he can get close enough to listen in on them.

There is no law that says you must be human to own things. However, there are laws that say you can be arrested for not being human if you are not given permission to be in the lands. When arrested, all worldly possessions are forfeit.  In the records of ownership, a lot is owned by non-humans, they tend to keep their heads down. The law also applies to humans as well, forfeiture is indiscriminate, it all benefits the noble and royal families. For non-human royals, it only requires the king’s blessing, there is no restrictions otherwise. Ownership is male, and passes to the oldest male.  If there is no male, it passes to a trust, or a named guardian.

The Chaucer family was never noble, but they are one of the most famous families pre-freeze as bards and playwrights. They were commissioned to write stories of royal families and other nobility.

The Olbunder family has one document, land ownership, signed by King Tomas, and an associated keep, about 50 years ago. And that is it.  This is further evidence that this is the Deck of Many Things. After that are several complaints and records of him overstepping his bounds. He has an “army” of animals that were super intelligent and knew how to open carriages. Intelligent bears and wolves, which is most likely were-creatures.

There is nothing about metallic dragons post freeze.  Pre-freeze, there was a gold dragon that sometimes consults with the Royal Family.  Pre-freeze, there was a registered silver dragonborn settlement in the High Elf Enclave.  There was gold Dragonborn royal family, and a smattering of other dragonborn families. None of these are recorded post-freeze.

Moon-Shine is the Silver Dragonborn Settlement. It may contain some evidence of what happened to the metallic dragonborn, or at least the Elves may know about that happened to them.

He returns and Berdyn tells him at the entrance to Gilbert and Emma’s that he sees a Red Dragonborn woman watching the entrance.  Codex has a panic attack, and has to be moved in by Berdyn. He calms down and tells the group about what he has learned.

Meanwhile, at Emma’s Tea, Bale announces that there are survivors in Everlife, and that a list will be posted.  Erica Sabion was there and did hear this. So hopefully she will find out that Tristan is alive. From there, it is up to her.
