The beast appeared long after Moranak rise to power. Sent by the Blood God himself, Ashmaw arrived as both a symbol of Khorne’s approval and a reminder that the Gildborn’s every action was being watched.
First his pack approached the camp of Gilded Skulls, not entering but observing from afar. Then Ashmaw arrived and immediately stepping inside the camp, mauling any unfortunate soul who tried to approach it. Until it approached Moranak, where upon it lied down. This was very unusual for a flesh hound to do, but Ashmaw was sent by Khorn with a very specific task. Not only to show Blood Gods favour with Moranak, but to lead him upon a quest to prove him self even more in Khorn's eyes.
Now Ashmaw is always close to his new master and when Moranak lets go of the gold leash Ashmaw unleashes his fury and mauls anyone who would dare to hurt his master.
