The Tavyan are a fictional race of angelic like people, who represent duty and self sacrifice in the name of the greater good. They are typically portrayed as human like figures with wings sprouting out of both their head and back, clad in white-gold plate mail. In some legends, or embellished retellings of the past, Tavyan come down from the heavens to help mythical kings out in their time of need. Some historians believe that the myth of the Tavyan originated from the Wild Era, when the Ancient Gods told ancient humanity about the Starchildren, and their imaginations filled in the gaps.
Regardless of how they came about, they're portrayed in many different forms of art, such as paintings, sculptures, statues, cabinets and the like. One of the more notable examples of this is the personal guard of the God-Emperor of Moneeri are known as the Tavyan, and they take their signature look, with fancy decorated gear and years of training.
