The Church of Radiant Light is the state religion of the Kestran Empire. Founded on the first day in what is now the celestial isles by a common shepherd, the church has historically been a major power throughout the Empire. The church worshiped the god of Sun and Light Serenae, the God of Mankind Korrodin, and the Eight Exalted Saints which helped form the church. Divisions exist within the church as to what degree these various entities should be revered. There also exist exalted of the faith who are revealed in certain regions, or by certain parts of the church. Debates are ongoing and have recently escalated as to whether or not these new exalted should be canonized.
The Spiritual leader of the Church is the Luminarch, who is selected from one of several families native to the celestial isles. As this figure does not leave the celestial isles, a network of bishops, cardinals, and other clergy officials organize church holdings on the mainland in the name of the church, often with a great deal of autonomy. Parallel to the church are the holy orders dedicated to the Eight Exalted Saints. I will detail the most relevant of these in a moment. There are also cults to Serenae and Korrodin which form parts of the church.
