The Northern Territory lies north of what has long been considered the borders of the empire in a region referred to as the expanse. Colonists aided by modern technologies and seeking to feed the empires ever growing hunger for raw resources have settled this long-forbidden region once shrouded in fear and mystery. The region has only one major city and is otherwise populated by small logging and mining settlements. With so much unclaimed land, it is a place for the brave, adventurous, and desperate. The terrain is cold year-round, with things growing darker, and nights growing longer, the farther north one travels. Think Siberia, Finland, Iceland.
