Enghast

Enghasts are a particularly twisted form of undead that were created by the vile necromancer Fezoan. They resemble humanoids with no arms or legs with the chest facing skywards and the head lolled back, upside-down. 8 long, thin chitinous appendages emerge from the sides of the torso, acting as the undead's means of locomotion. An acidic black bile constantly drips from the orifices of the rotting corpse.

Abilities

Enghasts have hollow bodies, and are capable of folding themselves down into small spaces. Their skin has a rubbery quality, allowing them to stretch and squeeze with great freedom. The bodies constantly generate acidic bile, which can be spit at opponents from a distance. Enghasts may attempt to swallow targets whole, and use their bile to digest them from within their bodies.

Creation

Reading through Fezoan's spellbook, Wander discovered the ritual to create an enghast requiring a living person, the heart of a cow, a rotted plant, a bowl of mold, a clean bottle or pot, and a vial of the caster’s blood to perform.

Over the period of an hour, the person will have their limbs ritually flayed and severed from the body, with the magic of the ritual twisting the body into its morbid form. The soul of the individual will attempt to escape during this period, but is caught and bisected, with one half bound to the caster in a receptacle such as a pot or a bottle, and the other to the twisted body. Long, slender spiked legs will emerge from the torso, completing the form of the enghast.
