Beginnings
Valloth didn’t die, however, as she was kept alive through the generosity of a local tribe of bullywugs. As the years passed, Valloth grew into a life of crime, living off of stolen goods from passing adventurers or tribes of lizardfolk and undead in the area. She resided in a large hollowed-out tree, just big enough to fit the basic necessities she needed to survive.
She spent her days smoking wyrmweed and tinkering with machine parts left behind or stolen from adventuring parties passing through the area, which led her to develop an affinity for the work of an artificer. Her prized creation was B.O.B, a small robotic golem who, when he had access to power, could complete small tasks for her. Living in a swamp, these power sources were rare and hard to come by, so B.O.B sat powered off most days, Valloth pretending otherwise to fill in the silence of being alone.
One day, she met an adventuring party whom she took a liking to. Specifically, she developed feelings for their leader, who was a tiefling man named Malron Kadyrthos. Valloth had never seen anyone else who looked like her, so when asked if she would be interested in joining them on their travels, she decided to try something new with her life and said yes. This turned out to be a fatal mistake, however, as after a week of traveling, she awoke to find that this was no adventuring party. It was a cult in disguise, with her being the sacrifice they needed for a ritual.
The group proceeded to burn Valloth at the stake, positioned over some sort of ritual she didn't recognize. She awoke the next morning in the open field where they had set up camp, with no sign that anyone had ever been there. The tents they slept in, the ritual grounds where she was set aflame, and the party she had been traveling with were all absent. Confused and relieved, she made her way back to her home in the Mere of Dead Men.
It wasn't until Valloth arrived home that she discovered the ritual's effects. She entered her home to find B.O.B up and running faster and more efficiently than he ever had before. What was even stranger was that he was about three times his former size. What once was a small robot no taller than her waist was now an eight-foot-tall tank of a machine, barely able to fit within the hollowed tree she called home, and seemingly with a sentient mind of its own.
For reasons unknown, the ritual meant to use Valloth's soul as fuel has instead strengthened her, allowing her to tap into the arcane and bring life to the machines and tools she had been constructing her whole life.
Tyranny of Dragons
After awakening her abilities as an artificer, Valloth developed a keen sense of aim and took to using firearms as her choice of weaponry. Now with the strength to hold her own against the world and the threats it holds, Valloth and her now-real golem friend, B.O.B., left the Mere of Dead Men.
It was then she met the Wyrmspeakers, and embarked on a quest like no other, slaying the dragon queen Tiamat and something something friends along the way!
Current Day
Valloth and her wife, Remalia Haventree (a Harper agent met during the events of Tyranny), live happily in Waterdeep, where she runs a successful Wyrmweed dispensary.
