The great dining hall at Songborne. The walls are lined with portraits of those who have given exemplary service to the empire. Almost all are of ancestors of the High Born families. If there are particularly rowdy drinking and feasting songs the portraits have been no to join in, the hall itself amplifying the noise of the throng, or if a rousing speech is delivered the portraits may applaud.
The carvings on the chairs are known to change displaying the family crest of whoever is seated in them.
It also contains the shifting tables, long banquet tables that magically extend or shorten depending on how many are seated. At their smallest, they're an intimate family table; at their longest, they're able to seat hundreds.
A narrow stone beam crosses the rafters above the table. Known as 'the Rasa kings bridge' it's said the king of the palace rasa comes with his courtiers there when the mood take him and when they gather it is a good omen for the feast.
