Met Rada

God of Aquatic Life

Met Rada is the god of direction, winds, and ocean currents, revered as the divine force that guides sailors safely across the seas. He governs the unseen forces that push ships forward or lead them astray, serving as both a protector and a challenger to those who dare sail the vast waters. Sailors and travelers invoke Met Rada when they are lost at sea or in life, believing he can provide clarity in times of turmoil, loss, or indecision. Some say he whispers through the winds, nudging ships toward their fates. Others claim he manifests as a lone albatross, appearing to those who seek their true path. His favor is sought through offerings of sea charts, carved driftwood compasses, and whispered prayers beneath starry skies.

Long ago, he fell in love with a mortal woman whose heart longed for the endless sea as much as his own. She was fearless, charting unknown waters, daring the storms he wove, and always finding her way home. For a time, they shared whispered words beneath the stars, their love a secret carried on the ocean breeze. But the gods are bound to duty, and Met Rada could not forsake his role. The winds had to blow, the currents had to flow, and the lost had to find their way. When he returned to seek her, years had passed, and she was gone. Desperate, he forged a divine compass, unlike any that had ever existed—a relic that did not point north, but instead to one’s truest desire. He called it the Heartseeker. With it, he scoured the world, through storm and mist, across forgotten seas and sunken lands. When at last the Heartseeker ceased its movement, he did not find her waiting—but her last resting place, hidden on a lonely, wind-swept isle. There, in sorrow, he left the Heartseeker atop her grave, so that others who yearned for something lost might one day find their way, even when he could not.
