However, after a fateful moment of envy, her elder sister, Danu Senaia, cursed her so that no mortal could look upon her without turning to stone. Now, Danu Medusa resides atop the mist-shrouded peaks of Sarpedon, a hidden island caught in the spiraling currents of the Okeanos-stream. While believed by the Arvenian people to be a myth or a cautionary tale to ward off disobedience, she is a real and enduring divine force. Her temple is said to be surrounded by stone statues—former mortals who defied the warnings.
