The L'panim (Celestial for "Oldest") are the earliest known inhabitants of El-Bayir. They are so old that nearly all of their history, culture, and people have been completely lost to time, with few having even heard of them, and those who have simply claiming them to be legend. The only known surviving members of the race are the sages of the Order of the Time Sages, a fact which is a closely guarded secret of their order.
L'panim are immortal.
The L'panim resemble humanoid moths of otherworldly beauty. They have four arms, two legs, and long antenna. They are immensely wise, immensely powerful in magics, and considered to be near-godlike in their abilities and powers. In times past, L'panim cities dotted the whole primordial world, but now their cities are so far gone as to be below even the Underdark.
The L'panim do not speak, instead communicating through gestures and signs.
