Witch Queen

The Witch Queen, also called the First Witch, is the legendary founder of House Ugaros. Very little is known about her, if she indeed existed. In most tales, she was the leader of a group of pilgrims who came upon the Silent Necropolis, with her establishing her household in what would become known as the Quiet Castle. It is unknown if she reigned as Witch Queen, the royal title which House Ugaros would claim during their reign as kings, or if this title was in reference to her magical prowess or even a title applied by future chroniclers. There are many tales told about the Witch Queen, most of them malign. In some tales, it is said that she took a husband from every settlement, village, town, and castle under her dominion, having many children from which are descended many of the houses (extinct and extant) sworn or once sworn to House Ugaros. In other tales, it is said that she ate five children every month to preserve her youth, allowing her to live for centuries. Lore within House Ugaros holds that she foretold an impending doom related to the Silent Necropolis.
