He had been a member of the Brotherhood of the Cloak from Mulmaster and had spent some time there. During this time, he had chafed under the restrictions there given the views of magic in Mulmaster and the fact it was heavily regimented.He left mulmaster and became a mercenary and was reached out to by Japeth and joined to be one of the original proesors of the school. He was attracted to the ability to perform reasearch at his own leisure without restriction given the Academy was willing to obtain knowledge for the sake of knowledge, no matter the cost.
