All chronomancers have heard rumors of the Guardians, though few know who they actually are. Wizards from the future, out to rule the timestream? An enlightened organization that fights evil throughout history? A society devoted to the best possible future? Chronomancers from another reality out to enslave this one? The tales grow in the telling. The Guardians are high-level chronomancers of every conceivable type. The majority are wizards, but Temporal Fighters and Champions are also present in large numbers. These mysterious beings have kept themselves completely hidden from the questioning minds of those in reality and are known only slightly by other chronomancers due to the unavoidable confrontations that occur. Normally, only elves, half-elves, and humans are members, but there is an occasional exception to this rule. Amid their secrecy, they refer to their shadowy organization as "The Order."
