While Sylgretor's first jaunt into the domain of the dragon Gelinivaar was when fleeing Fenris, Syltretor's first true exploration of the Southwood began with Xanthus believing he was to be hunting an undead host. Though they avoided the paths heavily patrolled by the kobolds of the Warden of the Southwood, they were unable to find any undead wandering the forest. That night when they set up their camp, Sylgretor heard music coming from wisps floating along the forest floor singing a strange song. When he went to sleep, Merkin visited him in a dream, and working though MAGIC's library in this dream, and together they concluded that the wisps must have been the spirits of the former inhabitants of the forest, the Thornwood elves.
