The Outlaws are a gang of thieves and bandits based just west of Lerwick. They roam the sword coast performing heists against anyone they feel deserves it and in their eyes anybody with a substantial amount of money probably deserves it. Despite being little more than common bandits they are protective of innocents and have no patience for murderers or psychopaths. Whilst its members are technically part of the Hawthorne Guild they often undertake unsanctioned missions and do their best to have their association with the guild unknown and most residents of Lerwick are unaware of their true purpose beyond being yet another band of adventurers. Irisen herself is likely aware of what they are up to but for now seems content to turn a blind eye so long as the Outlaws do not bring trouble to the guild itself. Crooks, bandits and thieves but not killers; members of the faction are commonly Chaotic or Neutral in alignment and oppose authority.
Goals
- To make as much gold as possible
- To protect members and allies of the gang from the law
- To ensure that the burdens of society’s worse-off members are eased
Beliefs
- That above all else no amount of money is worth an innocent life.
- That authority is an excuse for the strong to oppress the weak.
- That everyone deserves a second chance at life.
Member Traits
The typical member of this faction often comes from a rough upbringing. Often from the poorer members of society the gang invites such people to join so that they may escape lives of squalor. Other members join out of greed or as thrill seekers but the thing that bands them together is a dislike of most of societies rules. However they are not sociopaths and do not wish for innocent people to suffer and often go to great lengths to achieve their goals without putting civilians in harm’s way.
Hierarchy
Other than the co-leadership of 'Thomas' aka Blackjack and Rickard the gangs only other recognized position is that of the head enforcer who is generally tasked with jobs that require a very blunt and heavy approach.[1]
