Liparí Tetarti

Festival
100-8-1

Unofficially dedicated to Kyrah but no-one knows the true provenance. Before noon, this is a day for playing tricks and pranks on people. It is said only a fool trusts the news coming from other towns on this day. In the afternoon and evening, it becomes a day of celebration. In cities the roads become full with street festivals where poetry, performance and theatre are unable to be contained. The music spill out into courtyards and all open spaces are a mishmash of differing entertainments that often clash, merge or become something different. For the celebrations, most people dress in elaborate costumes that include masks, especially those who indulge the need to perform.
