Originally a part of the human led empire of Gallia, these rolling hills and fertile valleys were once great battlefield in the largest war Orrian had ever seen.

Four generations prior, the empire suddenly declared all magic illegal without warning. Arcane artifacts were smashed and mages of all sort where told to stop doing magic or face prison or death. Of course, this revolution was not without its opponents and the magic users of Gallia gathered together to fight the government for their right to practice the arcane arts. The chaos of violent uprising transformed into all out war as the alliance of spellcasters established their own society in the Gallian south lands. After over a half a decade of warfare over control of the country, a peace accord was implemented, dividing the nation in two. North Gallia would ban any magic within its borders, but agreed that South Gallia was free to govern as they saw fit and that anyone caught practicing magic in the North would be deported to the South rather than jailed or killed.

Since then, life in North Gallia has returned to an uneasy peace with their southern neighbors and its people live simple lives, free of magic and arcane technology. The imperial family still rules from their capitol of Krendal, but is bound by a constitution and answers to an elected parliament.
