"No. I'm not sure if I will raise my children in the arcane arts. I believe what we are doing to be of the utmost importance, and yet, of the utmost danger. No parent should seek out such a fate for their children."

Magical Upbringing
The Magical Upbringing is the kind of upbringing to be expected from one who is raised around wizards, alchemists, and rune masters - further, anyone dealing with otherworldly forces or creatures may well be within this category as well. Magical Upbringings are ones involving constant experimentation and knowledge seeking in the household - strange smells, terrifying sounds, and the occasional deformed monster are all not to be unexpected. It is a chaotic, if not wonderfully exciting way to grow up.
A young person living through a Magical Upbringing is likely to be used to the bizarre, and perhaps somewhat unaccustomed to the mundane. One whose parents were wizards might rarely see the inside of a pub or go on a trip to the countryside. Instead, quests for potent magical ingredients, frequent trips to obscure book stores and trinket shops, and late night meetings with vanishingly rare creatures are all certainly at least possible. More importantly, those engaged in a magical profession are unlikely to have an enormous amount of free time to spend on raising children or mentees. Often, those under the care of those in such a profession feel, if not neglected, at least a kind of wish that their parents or guardians had a "normal" life.
Those from the Magical Upbringing have a common magical trinket, representing a gift from a parent or guardian, something they came across when they were growing up, or maybe even something gifted to them by an associate of the family. You may choose from the following: 1) a Hat of Wizardry, 2) a Dark Shard Amulet, 3) an Enduring Spellbook, 4) an Instrument of Illusions, 5) an Instrument of Scribing, 6) a Ruby of the War Mage. See Xanathar's Guide to Everything for details on these common magical items.
