"See the line of loose stones there? That's up to where we plant. Technically the land just beyond it is ours as well, but its been a tradition in our family to keep one hectare's width from the edge of the great tomb to here clear. Beyond being magnets for tomb raiders and adventurers, I just don't like the look of it, never have."

Yeoman Farmer, Namjin Al-Shayid

Farmhand Experience

Perhaps the most statistically common kind of experience to be found in the world, farmhands find themselves working at manual labor on a farm. However, beyond just tilling fields and lugging sacks around, farmhands in training find themselves learning about different kinds of seeds and crops, how to best cultivate fertile soil, and the various seasons and what kinds of farm work are appropriate for each. This training at a base makes capable farmers, and at its best makes wise land managers.

The things to be learned on a farm, or else in broadly agricultural pursuits in general, are often devalued by city-folk and nomads alike. Those in cities assume farming day in and day out is exhausting labor for simple minded idiots. Nomadic peoples often view those who farm to be weak - the picture of the pacifist farmer looming large in their collective conscious. Despite this, those who have worked on a farm, even for a little, are often viewed as diligent and at least a little bit tough, particularly by those who themselves have never pulled a plow before.

Farmhands who well-learned their craft will do well to take that wisdom later into life. Much of world's population are themselves farmers, and the common lingo between those who have worked in agriculture is likely to have former farmhands looking for folk to communicate with in rural areas on their adventures. Knowledge of land management allows one to read the land, see where floods have taken place and where animals have roamed. This knowledge can cause adventurers who were once farmhands to always remember to see the forest for the trees, both literally and figuratively.
