The party continued to hear out the proposals of their potential benefactors and allies. Sasrovan, the merchant from the Tansahore Trading Guild, offered the party a tantalizing loan though they would have a hefty debt to repay once they reached Drumshiel. They decided that they would have enough resources and time to earn wealth without starting funds and so rejected Sasrovan's proposal. The merchant ensured the party that there was no hard feelings and that if they ever found themselves in need of funds that Kasduran could find him.
Terwie af Kyre, the matriarch of a noble and reputable clan of Canae, offered the party the support of Canae, intelligence on the ruins surrounding the Usgaroth mountains, and a troop of Line Breakers upon their capturing of a fortress. In return she requested to be instated as both the Ambassador of Canae and the General in the new settlement of Drumshiel. Additionally, she expected that Canae settlers would be welcome within Drumshiel. Terwie made it clear that she expected war with the Steppe nomads would be inevitable in order to keep the Steppe safe for travellers and surrounding settlements.
Finally, the party met with Iskander, a half orc representative from the New Orc tribe of the Steppe. Iskander was hopeful of establishing peace with the Steppe nomads and establishing trade between Drumshiel and the many tribes. Iskander offered the party guidance through the Steppe and guaranteed their safety should they run into any tribes on their journey. In return he asked that the party stop in Stavrotas to inform the Khans of their quest. Iskander also offered to become the Ambassador for the Steppe nomads.
After much debate and weighing the risks and benefits, the party decided that allying with both Iskander and Terwie would be beneficial. With their allies and companions in order, Kasduran laid out a map for the party to decide upon their path to the Usgaroth mountains. However, they were interrupted by a drunkard who was antagonizing Bunhilda for beer. After attempts from Aurent and Leith to placate Big Benj, Deirdre stepped in with an intimidating and ominous speech regarding his future if he continued down this path. Confused and frightened, Benj fled the tavern and the party was rewarded by Brunhilda with a discount on rooms for the night. The party eventually settled on a path that would take them through Vestin-Oberburken and the Arissian Empire before leading north into the Steppe with eventual plans to winter in a Saravoan town.
Evard led the newly established company in an old dwarven tradition of sharing a drink from the same cup to drink for the health of the company and grant luck to the journey. After a few more drinks the party turned in for the night, completing their nightly rituals and drifting off into dreams of their future, past, and strange voices.
TLDR: We're so good at choosing supporters, Deirdre scared the pants off of Big Benj, we all slept in a bed of farts.
