11th of Rot
After a brief rest, the Reclaimants pushed forward into the dungeon and were met with a bugbear and two goblins. Though the goblins were jumpy and ready to initiate combat, the bugbear began speaking to the party in common and introduced himself as Gorg the Bloody Handed. Leith and Aurent spoke with him for some time and learned that he was an underling of the goblin lord Rateye from Zaltia and had come to this region to find a keep witch. They had not hurt Pinna and had been trying for some time to convince her to join them willingly. The party was able to convince Gorg to let them take Pinna back to town while Aurent stayed in her place and they would send Iskandur to speak with him. The hope was that Iskandur knew of some witches amongst the Stepe that would be willing to go with them to Zaltia.
When the party went to retrieve Pinna, Deirdre noticed a reliquary in the center of the room and as she approached it she had a vision of a dwarf hiding something within it. Inside were a variety of texts including an alchemical formula book and a text covered in what appeared to be dragon scales titled "Tabiblio tu Dracu". Leith looked through the book and found that it was a series of essays on different kinds of dragons, often describing how to kill them. As Leith flipped through the book, Deirdre noticed strange red symbols that she was able to read despite being illiterate. Though scared of the hidden text and disgusted that she was able to understand it, she felt drawn to the book.
The plan to send Gorg to the Stepe for a new witch was a success and Pinna, along with some of the stolen goods from the town, was released. Interested in their quest, and feeling as though she needed to stretch her wings, Pinna decided to join the party on their journey to Drumshiel.
TLDR: Gorg is surprisingly ok that we murdered several of his men/women, we're basically the best at diplomatic encounters
