The Reclaimants swiftly and skillfully brought the woman to unconsciousness, and decided to tie her up and take her back to Rusicadea when the sun rose. She remained unconscious throughout the night and the next morning they questioned her. Before they were able to, she said a prayer to her god (which we determined was Asmodeus). "Deceiver please deliver me from the iniquities of these (enemies?) they will one day serve as fitting reminders of your power once they lie on the burning piers in the pit. Forgive me for my failure, punish them for their insolence, your gold may lie in their hands for now but your symbol is forever carved into my heart." Adom believed that she had placed a curse on us and hoped that if we gave her back her holy symbol that would rectify the situation. Aurent and Leith were adamant that giving her back the holy symbol was a bad idea and Aurent was convinced that there was no way we were actually cursed.
After some questioning, they discovered that she had not worked alone. A group of people that she called "the profligates" had aided her, they were potentially from Cosa. The woman had taken note of how Aurent's shadow behaved in combat and mentioned that he had a blessing of Arethalon, which he brushed aside as her trying to scare him.
While travelling back to the city, Adom and Aurent got into a heated argument about whether or not the party was actually cursed. Leith attempted to mediate the conversation, but some tension remained. During this argument, the party learned that Adom was a follower of Nythal, the daughter of Lothal. But Leith confirmed that she was not connected to her mother at all and was rather a goddess of grace, beauty, and "good times".
The woman (whose name we never actually got) was turned in to General Lucius, who reassured the party that she would have a trial, and once it was over her holy symbol would be destroyed.
TLDR: Cosa sounds like a really fucked up place. We might be cursed, who's to say.
