Basilisks are no mean feat, so we spent an hour of our morning discussing tactics and methods we might use to keep Princess Anora safe, even to the point of stepping over to the palace to speak to her. For someone under her father's house arrest, she is remarkably able and calm, administering many of the matters of state her father neglects.
It's becoming clear now why she’s a target. Anora's death will destabilise the whole of Estoria. Antagonising Pythor is simply a bonus.
In the end, the plan was straightforward as all great plans are. We will offer ourselves in her place and fight the basilisks ourselves, preparing ourselves with mirrors,
We took ourselves to the enemy camp and employed some pre-prepared in fighting to make it seem a better deal to them than it was. Gaius, their commander, agreed to the exchange and to leave Estoria for a year in return for the group of us together exchanging places with Anora. We had less luck with the centaurs, but without the host of Sydon’s army her to hold them together, at least they’ll be back to fractured tribes, raiding for honour and station.
And now, we find ourselves chained to the rock, ready to fight. Sydon seems to have taken a hand and the waters are rising.
Time to find out what heroes are made of.
