You Can Dance if You Want to
Well Sydon’s a bit of an egotist, but I think we knew that already. Those gygan statues were… unpleasantly powerful, to say the least! I can’t imagine how insecure you’d have to feel in order to require donations and prayers just to walk around a temple dedicated to your worship. Happily, we at least were able to turn them to rubble which should put a stop to those antics for a while.
The goatlings below were also comparative small fry, although unfortunately one of them was able to unleash a slingshot that felled the poor child they were pursuing. However, in only the third instance of a god proving themselves mildly competent to date, Kyrah was able to resurrect the boy and Theo and I were able to… Encourage? the rest of the young ones in the cavern to accompany him, Kyrah and Corinna up to the temple above to preserve their safety.
It turns out that the strength of will in the party could afford some work - one surge of power from the twisted creatures we next encountered was enough to send the entire rest of the group into spasms of disturbing paroxysms in some sort of parody of dance. I stood against the beasts as long as I could as the others attempted to shake off this invidious influence but eventually was downed by the flailing of the beasts, happily just sustaining long enough to allow the majority of the group to regain control of themselves and finish off the beasts.
