The day ended with a visit to Volkan where Calliope rather aptly negotiated us what seems to be a good payment for bringing back the bones of their ancestors from the Mithral Forge. I would have loved to help, but I was distraught. Volkan has decided to inflict a rather creative punishment on Theothania. Poor thing. He may not have caused the death of the one person he loves, but wasn’t the horror of that temple enough punishment? Yet, I am not a parent and Volkan probably knows what he is doing. Though, looking at some of his children you may question that...
The next day finds us on the way to the Falls or Arkelon. A long and arduous walk, but the view of mountains still standing tall despite the arguments between gods, titans and mortals bring me a moment of peace in the middle of this all consuming and life altering (ending?) quest. A conversation with Theo manages to make me even more confused about Slippy than I was before. Has he been obvious to everyone but me? I really must pay better attention to my surroundings and… myself. Still, reassuring as maybe I’m not going mad. And despite still being quite excitable, especially about battle, he’s proven to be quite the asset, hitting the griffins with remarcable force even from our position far from the actual clash. A good tactical positioning as well…
P.S. I also need to pack the horn as far away as possible, I am afraid I’ve started stress eating. Though these pastries are quite lovely. And Slippy agrees!
