Hippofilius - Session 35

Journal
Before we set to join with Bullbug, as Helikaon’s new minotaur friend is known, we set to stock up on necessities from the Agora.

I stopped by an animal keeper as one of the stalls there- the animals seemed well kept enough in her care, but I do wonder if their new owners are as careful with them. From the grasslands, there were two magnificent big cats- a rangy lion and the sleek spotted form of a cheetah. Unfortunately, before I could enquire more or try to speak to them, we were ushered from the shop, after an argument with Theo.

Calliope had found a potions shop that also dabbled in some magics- in particular she told us of a game board that could magically enforce bets and oaths. Given how we are investigating how oaths have been used to trap Bullbug’s countrymen, it seemed prudent for us to invest in its purchase to study it further. It seems Calliope is extremely proficient and playing against the shopkeep in a friendly game won a potion from him, with some excellently calculated plays.

We bought street food and went to the gardens to eat. It was lovely to not have stone buildings looming over us, though as always we did find a small diversion.

The wisest man in Mytros is a resident of the gardens, plied with food and drink from his admirers and followers. A rather stout aggressive halfling, it seems his reputation, if not overblown, is tempered with his foul mouth and attitude.

His advice was of little help either, so as twilight looms, we make our preparations to see what can be done about these slavers. With the risks of ambush, heading in two small groups seems prudent.

Let us see what the night brings.
