Hippofilius- Session 62

Moxena it seems is true to form. Utterly within the words of her Oath, but violating the spirit of it entirely. A new statue adorns her parlour, though at least this time it is a foe rather than a friend- the shadow monk from the Lutherian contingent.

Some news of likely candidates for interfering with the other competitors, but with the games starting tomorrow, there is little time for more interference. We did well to escape the city when we did.

The Games began with all the pageantry you would expect from such an event. Voices calling and shouting, bets being wagered, drink flowing freely. In truth, I could live without it. The freedoms and peace of the forests are much more my place. Still, with the combinations of our skills built up from our recent trials and the physical expertise of our most recent addition, Xan, we are not an inconsequential faction.

We make some sacrifices to the gods for luck in the events- these at least seem to have paid off. A cluster of medals from the first week of events is ours- in truth as I count them up, there are enough that we may lead the tables of competitors.

But with the traditional events done and the modern events to come, will this taste of victory inspire us more, or paint targets on our backs?
