The seedy waterfront of Souk (City).
The Narrow Dock is a labyrinthine network of narrow alleyways and darkened streets, where the sounds of lapping waves and creaking boats mingle with the smells of salt, rotting fish, and cheap ale. Dilapidated warehouses and ramshackle taverns lean precariously against each other, their crooked chimneys puffing out smoke and ash. The dock itself is a precarious and rickety structure made from rotting wood and rusted iron, with gaps and holes in the planks that threaten to send unwary travellers tumbling into the briny waters below.
Shrouded in shadows and hidden corners, the Narrow Dock is a place where danger lurks around every corner. Cutthroats and brigands prowl the dark alleys, their knives gleaming in the dim light of flickering torches. Drunken sailors stagger out of taverns, spoiling for a fight or a quick score. Peddlers hawk their wares from makeshift stalls, offering everything from stolen goods to dubious potions and charms.
Despite its many dangers, the Narrow Dock is a hive of activity and commerce. Barges and skiffs bob up and down in the water, laden with cargo and passengers. Fishermen cast their nets into the murky depths, hoping for a catch that will fetch a good price at the market. And through it all, the dock rats scurry and scavenge, always on the lookout for their next meal or a valuable trinket to steal.
For those brave or foolish enough to venture into the Narrow Dock, there are many secrets and treasures to be found - but the risks are high, and the price of failure can be deadly.
