You have a Wealth stat. It starts at 6. This number represents your ability to buy "cool" things, but other than that, you can have any items that make sense. As long as your Wealth is 5 or better, you can live in a modest place, and you don't need to do anything with your Wealth stat when your character has everyday expenses.

For example, your character can order a drink in a bar, and you don't have to track that in any way. If another character is a tailor, you can go to him to have an outfit made. You get the outfit, but neither of you have to do anything with your Wealth stat (you can RP paying the character 5 gold, but the actual earnings from this is represented by the tailor's job roll). Wealth of 5 means you are working for a living and getting by.  If you dip below that, you should RP your character as being poor and unable to afford basic things.

Your Wealth will improve as you play and earn rewards, and you can also increase it by 1 by spending 4 points at any time.

Wealth Rolls
When the GMs make "cool" items available, you use your Wealth to see if you can buy them. Roll versus Wealth with a penalty equal to the item's cost, with the following modifiers:

  • If the item costs 1 or more Wealth, subtract the cost from your roll.
  • Additionally, if your Wealth is Cost+3 or more, add 3 to your roll.
  • If your Wealth is Cost+10 or more, you automatically succeed.

On a success, you are able to afford the item. If the Cost is 1 or more, decrease your Wealth by 1. If it's fractional, your Wealth does not decrease.  On a critical success, the purchase does not decrease your Wealth stat (flavortext-wise, this doesn't necessarily mean that you got the item for free, it just means that the purchase didn't make much of a dent in your savings).  If you fail, then you can't afford anything at that cost or higher today, and must wait until the next in-game day until trying again.  You may still attempt items of lower Cost freely.

If you would like to give Wealth to another character, you can only give exactly 1 Wealth per roll.  Roll to spend 1 Wealth, applying any modifiers as above.  On a success, 1 Wealth is subtracted from you and added to them.  On a fail, you cannot attempt at Wealth rolls for items at Cost 1 or higher.
