The Golden Wattle is a small Acacia tree native to Oceanyka. Its bark produces more tannin than any other in the world (fuelling a huge, ancient leather industry) while the aromatic and dandelion-like flowers provide large amounts of nectar for the local ecosystem to thrive on. Furthermore, its natural beauty is well appreciated. With these characteristics the Golden Wattle has become one of Oceanyka's national icons.
