The Eastern Bardiche is particularly well-suited for hacking the heads and limbs off beasts, while a single powerful thrust can cleave a cavernous wound into sufficiently large creatures.
The eastern bardiche, about 3 metres long, represents the fusion between Ferozen weapon smithing and the left-over knowledge of the Second Ankic Empire. It is essentially a more streamlined version of the traditional Ferozen axe fit to a long pole, thus turning this fearsome close combat weapon into a proper infantry polearm capable of putting up an impenetrable wall of sharp iron. This allowed Ferozen soldiers to fight in formation, rather than as blobs of individual duellists as they had before. The upper part of the blade is thickened and sharpened on both sides, allowing the eastern bardiche to be used for upwards cuts and lethal thrusts. Throughout many centuries of use, it was found to be particularly effective at cleaving apart through large creatures such as a charging Horse or Klongen.
