The Oceanykan Giant Squid is the largest known-of sea creature in Earth. A sexually mature individual is usually around 30m long and weighs about eighty tons. However, the Oceanykan giant squid does not stop growing until death, and some have reportedly surpassed the hundred metre mark. It is armed with two large tentacles and six smaller ones, which have sharpened tips made out of Bioferrite, much like a limpet's teeth. Under its skin, the creature has plates made out of calcium carbonate.
The reason this creature evolved to be so lethal is that it is cannibalistic. Aside from hunting large whales and fish, it also hunts those of its own species and gender. As such, both males and females violently remove any competition from the seas. They may also attack ships or seaplanes, confusing them for large prey. One of the reasons for Oceanyka's relative isolation to the rest of Asia and the Pacific was likely that older ships, using rows or sails, were a big and slow target for Oceanyka's prime ocean hunters.
