Oak

Oaks refer to both deciduous and evergreen trees of the genus Quercus. They grow in Oceanyka's temperate regions, though they are not as plentiful as the locally adapted eucalyptus. It seems the oak did not exist in Oceanyka until colonisation by Homo Sapiens, making it the youngest species of tree in the continent. Its timber is very useful due to its high strength. In fact, prior to the invention of metal warships, oak was the standard shipbuilding material.
