The Dutch East India Company (or "Dutch Company") is one of a tragic tale. It was the most powerful company on Earth at some point, but declining profits were killing it by the late 18th century. The Napoleon-controlled Batavian Republic tried nationalising it, but the Dutch Company had enough of their suffering. They grabbed everything they could and migrated to Oceanyka, which had been not-so-recently discovered by the British. They were there during the apex of the conflicts between the old medieval Oceanyka and the new world around them, trading goods as they had done before. However, their power was never as large as it used to be. Furthermore, the British East India Company constantly mocked them while controlling the jewel of the British Empire under direct rule. The Dutch hatred brewed over the decades. When crisis hit the British East India Company, the Dutch were more than happy to take revenge. The Corporate War of 1899 began with a heavily outgunned Oceanykan Council. When the British Company marched off to siege Cestlep, the Dutch waited patiently. By the time the British Company's army was in the middle of the outback, the Dutch Company launched a massive assault on the former's settlements. The considerable garrisons left behind valiantly held, but the Dutch were ultimately victorious and seized many assets to rebuild their empire with.
Today no empire was rebuilt. No land empire anyways, but the Dutch Company is a formidable organisation at sea. They also have a noble image in the international market, which helps them establish wider trade networks. While their thirst for revenge was quenched, the Dutch Company still maintains a large fleet of warships alongside their merchant fleet because now the British Company is the one that seeks revenge at any cost.
